Architectural Technology

The Architectural Technology program prepares individuals to assist architects, engineers, and construction professionals in developing plans and related documentation for residential and commercial projects in both the private and public sectors.

Coursework includes instruction in architectural drafting, computer-assisted drafting, construction materials and methods, environmental systems, codes and standards, structural principles, cost estimation, planning, graphics, and presentation.

 

Employment Prospects

Architectural Technology graduates should qualify for entry-level jobs in architectural, engineering, construction, and trades professions as well as positions in industry and government.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics lists the annual median pay (2019) for the following 2-year and 4-year architectural technology related occupations between about $57,000 to $95,000.

Our Engineering and Construction Technologies graduates have several transfer opportunities available. Graduates may pursue 4-year degrees in Architectural Technology & Design, Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Geomatics (Surveying) and Sustainable Building Systems.
