5.16.2 Pay Increase
Revised: August 6, 2007, October 1, 2016
Annual salary increases are awarded to faculty and staff in accordance with the instructions of the North Carolina State Legislature. When enrollment growth or other circumstances make it possible, the College may make adjustments to salaries.
Criteria for awarding pay increases to faculty are the same as those used to evaluate faculty – quality teaching, currency in the faculty members’ disciplines, support for student learning outside of class, effective advising, departmental support, and collegiality.
Criteria for staff pay raises are the same as those used for staff evaluations – their contribution to their departments’ success in meeting outcomes, scores on student/faculty surveys, assessments of their effectiveness by their peers and clients, and assessment of their effectiveness by their supervisors. Salary adjustments may be made based on increase in duties and pay inequity.
