2.1.1 Complaints of Discrimination

In accordance with Federal and State Guidelines, any staff member or student who believes that a Sandhills Community College employee has discriminated against him/her on the basis of gender, gender identity, genetic information, or disability, thus violating Title IX of the Education Amendment Act of 1972 including the SaVE Act, which is an amendment to the Cleary Act regarding sexual assault and other intimate partner violence, Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act (race, color, national origin), The Pregnancy Discrimination Act, The Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 (ADEA), Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) , Sections 501 and 505 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (disability), and The Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008 (GINA)  may file a complaint.
