Spring could be the season to learn how to use PowerPoint, Windows, or iPad apps. The Sandhills Community College Continuing Education Technology classes are a great way to have fun and make new friends while learning how to use consumer technology and computer software.
PowerPoint can be a great way to visually enhance a presentation, or it can be a quick trip to presentation purgatory. “PowerPoint Tips and Tricks” will help you create winning presentations quickly and efficiently. You will learn shortcuts and tips that are not widely known; these tools will dramatically reduce both the time and attention needed to build a presentation, as well as improve the quality of the presentation itself.
“PowerPoint Tips and Tricks” will be held on Thursday, April 4 and Friday, April 5 from 9 a.m.-Noon. The cost is $75.
“PowerPoint: Home Run Presentations” will help anyone give an outstanding presentation that includes great complementary visuals. The first half of the day will show participants how to prepare their presentation and how to plan the visuals – BEFORE getting into PowerPoint. The second half of the day is a hands-on PowerPoint experience with many tips and tricks that are guaranteed to make a difference in the quality of any presentation!
“PowerPoint: Home Run Presentations” will be held on Thursday, April 11 and Friday, April 12 from 9 a.m.-Noon. The cost is $75.
Enhance your Windows 10 skills in “Windows 10 Level 2.” Discover how to use the Action Center and the all Settings screen, how to customize your Desktop, set up, and use virtual desktops, creating folders for basic file management, and how to use File Explorer. A brief introduction to email and the Windows Store will be covered, as well as how to update Windows 10 and keep it safe. The prerequisite for this class is Windows 10 Level 1 or prior experience.
“Windows 10 Level 2” will be held on Tuesdays, April 9-May 28 from 6-9 p.m. The cost is $75.
Continue studying the Mac apps found in the iPad Operating System in “iPad Level 2.” Review iPad 1 and then receive more detailed lessons on additional iOS productivity apps. The prerequisite for this class is iPad 1 or a waiver by the instructor or Lori Degre. Each student must bring an iPad or iPhone.
“iPad Level 2” will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays, April 8-May 15 from 10 a.m.-Noon. The cost is $75
