Nursing

NursingThere has never been a better time to be a nurse. Did you know that by the year 2020, there will be an estimated shortage of 800,000 nurses? With the world population living longer and needing more care, the healthcare field is one of the best places to get a job and will likely stay that way for many years to come.

In addition, nursing is a highly regarded profession. A Gallup Poll announced that the public voted nurses number one for “honesty and ethical standards of various professions.”

Sandhills offers Associate Degree Nursing, a diploma in Practical Nursing, and a Nursing Assistant program.

Nursing Application Deadlines for Fall 2012 Entry

A second consideration period has been scheduled for the Practical Nursing program. For students who have met Stage I of the ADN or PN program for 2012, the Nursing Department is accepting PN Stage II applications May 29th-June 4th 2012 at 4 PM (K124A).

The ADN program has filled their fall seating from the February consideration period and is not holding a second consideration period.

Students planning to apply for Stage II of the PN program are encouraged to discuss this decision with their nursing advisor and, if receiving financial aid, the Financial Aid Office. Ms. Donadio in Stone Hall 116 is also available to answer questions related to the Admissions process.
