Personal and Home Care Aide Training Class at Hoke Center

As our population ages, jobs for trained personal or home care aide are plentiful. Receive a Sandhills Community College certificate as a Personal and Home Care Companion when you successfully complete. “Direct Care Basics-Phase 2.” (Phase 1 is not a prerequisite for this class.) Skills used in home management and personal care tasks, using limited caregiver assistance will be taught.

“Direct Care Basics-Phase 2” will be held at the Sandhills Hoke Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Oct. 4-Dec. 13 from 12:30-3:30 p.m. The cost is $185 but can be waived for qualified students.

This class is taught through the SCC Continuing Education Career Development division. The goal of Career Development is to assist students in assessing interests, personality traits, and abilities in setting career and educational goals, and in creating a pathway that will lead to economic, social, and educational success.

Seats are still available for this class. To register in person, stop by the Sandhills Hoke Center at 1110 E. Central Drive in Raeford. You can also register by phone at (910) 695-3980. Registration hours are Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Fridays 8 a.m. until noon.
