2) Apply to Sandhills

Complete free online admission application. As part of the application process, you must complete your online residency interview before your application will be submitted.

3) Submit your transcripts

Request official copies from all previous schools attended (high school, high school equivalency, and college transcripts) Official transcripts must be submitted via fax, email, or in a sealed envelope sent directly from the issuing school to SCC.

4) Apply for financial assistance

Apply for financial aid

Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine your eligibility for financial aid.

Apply for scholarships

If you are interested in applying for a Sandhills Scholarship, to include the Sandhills Promise, you will need to complete our scholarship application.

Apply for VA benefits

If you are planning to use your VA education benefits at SCC, visit our VA webpage for helpful enrollment steps.

5) Orientation

Upon acceptance to Sandhills, you will receive an acceptance letter via text message prompting you to setup your SCC student account and begin the online New Student Orientation. After you complete the New Student Orientation, you will receive an email introducing you to your assigned advisor.

  • If you are in an applied science program you will be assigned to a faculty advisor who teaches in their program of study.
  • If you are in transfer programs (AA/AS) or General Education, you will be assigned to an advisor in the Transfer Center.

You should meet with your advisor as soon as possible. Your academic advisor will provide you guidance on how to register for your first semester classes.

6) Meet with you advisor and register for classes

You will receive an email introducing you to your advisor and directions on how to move forward with registering for classes. Advisor contact information will be available in Self Service after completing orientation.You can find your assigned faculty advisor by logging into Self Service>Student Planning>Go to Plan & Schedule>Advising. Your advisor’s contact information will be listed.

7) Pay for your classes

The cost of attending classes at Sandhills is still one of the best values in education. The North Carolina General Assembly sets tuition rates for in-state and out-of-state residents.
