Information Systems - Network Administration and Support
Network Administration and Support is a concentration under the curriculum title of Information Systems. This curriculum prepares students to install and support networks and develops strong analytical skills and extensive computer knowledge.
Course work includes extensive hands-on experience with networks. Classes cover media types, topologies, and protocols with installation and support of hardware and software, troubleshooting network and computer problems, and administrative responsibilities. Elective choices provide opportunity for specialization and individualization.

The courses in these certificates also apply to the Network Administration and Support degree program at Sandhills Community College.
Graduates should qualify for positions such as a Network Manager, Network Design Architect/Engineer, Network Technician/Analyst, Systems Administrator, Network Support Specialist, and Networking Consultant. Graduates should be prepared to sit for certification exams, which can result in industry recognized credentials.

Students taking computer courses using Microsoft products are eligible to obtain free software from Microsoft! SCC is a participant in the Microsoft MSDN Alliance, which provides software such as Windows XP, Windows 2003 Server, MS SQL Server, Visual Studio .NET, Microsoft Access 2003, and more. Please contact your instructor or program coordinator for more information about how to obtain your full-working versions of eligible Microsoft products.
