Information Sessions

All applicants for any Health Science program MUST attend an information session or meet with the Program Coordinator of the program they wish to apply to.  Sessions are held during New Student Orientation, and in Kennedy Hall Room 148 at 11:00 AM on the following dates:

February 27
March 6, 13, 20
April 3, 10, 24

Application Deadlines

Early Consideration – all requirements below must be completed by the last Friday in January

Late Consideration – all requirements below must be completed by the last Friday in April
(April 26, 2019)

Complete all prerequisite courses with a C or better. (See below) Complete all prerequisites with a C or better.  Students who will complete prerequisites in Spring Semester may apply.  (See below)
Take the HESI A2 exam and achieve a 75+ cumulative score. (See below) Take the HESI A2 exam. Students with scores less than 75 may apply at this time. (See below)
Students will receive a letter informing them of acceptance within 30 days of the early consideration deadline. Students will receive a letter informing them of acceptance within 30 days of the late consideration deadline.

Prerequisites

Prerequisite classes must be completed with a C or better.  All Health Sciences programs require the following:

  • Place into ENG 111 without a corequisite, or complete any required prerequisite or co-requisite courses.
    If you have completed or received transfer credit for ENG 111, you have met this requirement.
  • Place out of or complete math modules DMA 010 through DMA 050, OR Transition Math Tiers 1 and 2,  OR have credit for MAT 060 and MAT 070.
    *EMS requires only DMA 010-030 or Transition Math Tier 1.
    If you have completed any of the following MAT courses, you have met this requirement: MAT 080, MAT 140, MAT 143, MAT 151, MAT 152, MAT 161, MAT 171+.
  • Complete science prerequisites as required by the program.  Prerequisites can be either high school or college courses.  There is no time limit on courses you have previously taken.  A prerequisite taken in high school may meet the requirement to apply to the program, but will not give the student college credit.
  • Take the HESI A2 exam.
    All applicants must achieve at least a 75+ cumulative score in order to apply to any Health Science program in Early Consideration.
    *EMS does not require the HESI A2 exam.
  • All applicants must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher in order to be considered for admission.

Conditional Acceptance

Students who are offered seats in a Health Science program must complete additional requirements prior to beginning clinical training.  The clinical training onset varies by program. Specific dates and details will be communicated in your acceptance letter.

  • Drug screens and criminal background checks are required by our clinical affiliates in order to attend clinical rotations. Students with positive drug screen, criminal charges, or criminal convictions may not be able to attend clinicals, and therefore will be unable to progress within the program. Complete information regarding the procedure will be provided at the program orientation.
