When Damon Runyon wrote his “Broadway Stories” that would later become Guys and Dolls he was able to capture perfectly the variety of characters that inhabited a fast-paced, hand-to-mouth, rough-and-tumble New York City. The characters in this play are hip, wise, funny and above all individuals. They have “been there, done that”.
The Guys and Dolls production team is looking for actors who really light up the stage and have great articulation and projection. We desire a variety of ages and body types. Comic timing is everything. Be bold and don’t hold back!
At the initial audition, you will be asked to sing, “cold-read” dialogue and possibly dance. Please have the following prepared for your audition:
- Sing for memory 16 – 32 bars of a song (preferably from the show but not necessary) which demonstrates your range and voice and is suitable for the character for which you are auditioning.
- Bring three (3) copies of your music.
- Bring two (2) copies of both your resume and your headshot (or picture, printer copy ok).
- Your AUDITION FORM (download or fill out day of audition).
