Children are invited to enjoy books, poems, and riddles that celebrate reading in “Hats Off to Reading! A Salute to Books” on Saturday, September 14 from 10 a.m. until noon in the Barbara H. Cole Children’s Literature Center in the Boyd Library at Sandhills Community College.
Children and parents are encouraged to wear a hat – any kind will do – the crazier the better. Each family will receive a cloth bag to decorate. There will be a craft center to create a hat, puzzles, games, educational activities, take-away bags, a new book raffle, and treats for all.
Children of all ages are welcome but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. To reserve a spot, RSVP with the child’s name and age to firstname.lastname@example.org.
