Cooperative Work Experience Forms
Cooperative Work Experience (co-op) is designed to give students an opportunity to receive college credit for on-the-job experience. The work experience, conducted under the supervision of SCC faculty, must be significantly related to the student's program of study. Academic credit is awarded for the learning experience that occurs during the co-op period. Faculty Coordinators and on-site supervisors should work together to ensure the student will have a meaningful learning experience.
Co-op is a course like any other. In order to successfully complete the cooperative work experience, students are required to complete a minimum number of work hours and turn in all forms in the Co-op Workbook completely and on-time. There may also be a concurrent seminar. Work performance will be evaluated by the on-the-job supervisor and the Faculty Coordinator (co-op instructor) in order to assign a grade for the course.
