Administrative/Staff Support Level Position

Sandhills Community College seeks applications for the position of Associate Director of Foundation Outreach. The Associate Director of Foundation Outreach reports to the Dean of Institutional Advancement—and is a member of the development team within the Office of the President at Sandhills Community College.

DUTIES INCLUDE: Primary responsibility for producing the Sandhills Community College Foundation’s annual golf tournament (including recruiting teams, soliciting gifts and all functions related to the tournament). This position also supports the work of the Sandhills Community College Foundation in developing awareness by individuals, organizations and businesses in the community of the mission of Sandhills Community College. Duties include introducing new people to the college, creating opportunities for people to learn more about Sandhills, and planning and executing a variety of special events on the SCC campus throughout the year.

The Associate Director of Foundation Outreach is an integral member of the college’s development team and helps support all the functions of the Development Office. These also include significant clerical/secretarial/data management functions within the office.

QUALIFICATIONS: Associate Degree or higher, strong clerical, computer, and communications skills and the ability to work with diverse groups both on and off-campus. Experience with development for higher education desirable but not essential.

Basic Skills Retention/Assessment Specialist

Sandhills Community College seeks applications for a Retention/Assessment Specialist to serve the Basic Skills Department in the Division of Continuing Education. Duties include conducting student orientations, facilitating assessment activities, and managing student enrollment. The Retention/Assessment Specialist will also be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and entering data into the LEIS and Colleague systems. Position may require a flexible schedule, as needed.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree desired and two years experience working in an adult education environment. Applicants will be required to pass a timed test of Basic Skills. Other qualifications include experience with LEIS and Colleague systems. Applicants should possess strong computer and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
