Educational Opportunities

Culinary DemoDo you enjoy preparing delicious food for others to enjoy? If so, Sandhills Community College had several educational options that will lead you to a satisfying career in Culinary Technology. The college offers a two-year associate degree program as well as several certificate options that students may complete in as little as one semester. Culinary classes are offered during both daytime and evening hours to accommodate student schedules.

"Real World" Experience

You want quick entry into the workplace and we can help. The Culinary Technology program offers a hands-on educational experience which trains students for entry-level positions such as line cook, sauté cook, station chef and garde manger chef. With experience, our graduates advance to positions such as food service managers, sous chefs, banquet chefs, , executive sous chefs, chefs de cuisine, executive chefs and even chef/owners.

Course offerings emphasize theoretical knowledge, practical application and professionalism in order to provide the critical competiencies necessary to successfully meet industry standards. Courses include: basic culinary production, classical French cuisine, international/American regional cuisines, sanitation and safety, food and beverage service, food purchasing, baking, garde manger, advanced culinary and wine appreciation.
