Golf Course Management

SANDHILLS COMMUNITY COLLEGE offers the two-year Associate in Applied Science in Turfgrass Management Technology degree with a concentration in Golf Course Management. Golf Course Management provides students the opportunity to prepare for employment in the turf management sector of the green industry. While enrolled in Golf Course Management, the student may find employment at one of the world-famous golf courses in the Pinehurst, North Carolina, area.

STUDENTS will receive invaluable work experience that will better prepare them for employment upon graduation, and help them defray educational expenses. Senior students will take a course in Golf Course Organization and Administration taught by a former golf course superintendent. In addition, the required work experience, known as an apprenticeship at Sandhills, provides opportunities to work full-time on a golf course for a minimum of three months just prior to graduation. Students may also elect to lengthen their work experience to enhance their practical skills.
