Computer Engineering Technology
This Associate in Applied Science degree has 160 hours of computer maintenance training, emphasis on local area networks, advanced PC operating systems, computer hardware and digital electronics.
Graduates have found careers as network administrators, applications specialists, programmers, technicians and teachers. Some graduates have gone on to pursue 4-year degrees in computer science and computer engineering at NC universities. Some have even gone on to Master's degrees and others are now in management positions with various institutions and companies.

Computer Programming
This curriculum teaches classes on different computer platforms, concentrating the focus on the IBM midrange computing systems, with the expectation that the student will be able to transfer his/her knowledge to other platforms. 

While the primary emphasis is to prepare graduates to enter the workforce as programmer/analysts, the skills learned will also be the beginning step for a career as a systems analyst, information technology manager, database administrator, etc.

The Digital Media program prepares students for entry-level jobs in the digital design and multimedia industry. Students learn to synthesize multimedia, hypertext, computer programming, information architecture, and client/server technologies using both Internet and non-network-based media.

The Networking Technology curriculum prepares individuals for employment supporting network infrastructure environments. Students will learn how to use technologies to provide reliable transmission and delivery of data, voice, image, and video communications in business, industry, and education.

Simulation and Game Development
A diploma in Simulation and Game Development is available for students who aspire to work in computer simulation and game development, design, architecture, audio and visual techniques and story telling.

Sandhills will prepare students to be able to become employed in this field by providing instruction in gaming and simulation systems including the necessary software applications. Graduates can seek employment with the military, engineering, medical and gaming companies.

Web Technologies
The Web Technologies  curriculum prepares graduates for careers in the information technology arena using computers and distributed computing to disseminate and collect information via the web.

Course work in this program covers the terminology and use of computers, network devices, networks, servers, databases, applications, programming languages, as well as web applications, site development and design.
