- When does the next CCNA sequence begin?
- The
next semester for the beginning of the CNA sequence is the Fall
Semester 2006. The schedule all SCC courses appears listed on the SCC Calendars & Schedules page.
- Is the Cisco certificate available in the evening?
- Yes,
the CCNA course sequence is offered in the evening. In fact, the
evening Cisco courses are primarily designed for working computer
professionals who wish to obtain the CCNA certification. The Cisco
courses are also technical electives for the students in the Networking Technology Associate in Applied Science degree program.
- What are the entrance requirements to be admitted to the CCNA program?
- There are no special entrance requirements for the CCNA program. You must meet the requirements for general college admission.
- What courses must I take to earn a CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification?
- Technically,
one need not take any courses to take the CCNA. However, if you do not
have the necessary knowledge and skills, obviously you will be wasting
your money.
- Do I
have to take CIS 110 Intro to Computers and NOS 110 Operating Systems
Conceptsbefore I start taking the CCNA courses (NET 125, 126, 225, 226)?
- Those
students without significant technical computer background or
coursework should take CIS 110 (or CIS 111) and NOS 110 Operating
Systems Concept before attempting the Cisco course sequence. Those who
have taken other networking courses or who have had significant "real
world" experience with networks are given the chance to take credit by
exams for these prerequisite courses (free of charge) and start with
NET 125 Networking Basics.
- What do the courses cost?

- Can active duty military personnel take these course for free or at a discount?
- Active
duty military personnel may be eligible for courses to be paid for by
the the military if their job specialty includes networking
responsibilities. Contact the appropriate officer in your command.
