The Division of Continuing Education awards Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for appropriate programs. The Commission on Colleges defines the CEU as follows: One Continuing Education Unit (CEU) is ten (10) contact hours of participation in an organized continuing education experience under responsible sponsorship, capable direction, and qualified instruction. CEUs reported to the Dept. of Public Instruction require a certificate of credit issued by the Division of Continuing Education. Students should notify instructors at the beginning of a course if CEUs are needed for public instruction certification.
