When you are ready to take a test in a course provided through Blackboard software, a link to the test will appear in one of the Modules. Please follow these steps when taking a test:

1. Do not click the link to the test until you are ready to begin. If you click the link and then close the quiz before finishing, you will receive a grade of 0 on the test and will not be able to re-enter the test.
2. You must not ever click the back button on your computer or open another window, such as email or instant messenger programs, while taking the quiz or you will be removed from the quiz and receive a grade of 0.
3. You must also turn off a pop-up blocker program if you are using one before taking a quiz or be sure that your pop-up blocker permits access to all the pages in the course. To disable or modify your pop-up blocker, please read Pop-up Blockers and Blackboard Courses.
4. If you have a dial-up connection and use call waiting, be sure to disable call waiting so that your Internet connection will not be interrupted if you receive a telephone call while taking the exam. If you do not know how to disable call waiting while using the Internet through a dial-up connection (modem), please read How to Disable Call Waiting.
5. After you click the link below to open the quiz, you will receive a message asking if you want to continue. Click "OK" and then use your mouse to select each answer that you think is correct.
6. Do not click the "Save" button beside each question because you must complete this test in its entirety when you enter the quiz.
7. When you have finished, click the "Submit" button at the end of the quiz.
8. When you receive a message asking you to confirm assessment submission, click "OK."
9. After you submit the quiz ("assessment") for evaluation, you will receive a message asking if you want to review results. Click "OK" to see the results of your quiz.
10. Note: If the instructions indicate a time limit for the quiz, you will see the time remaining at the bottom of your screen in the Status Bar unless you have turned off that feature in your Web browser. If you want to check to see if the status bar is on, click "View" on your menu bar at the top of your screen. If you don't see a check mark beside "Status Bar," click "Status Bar" on the menu to turn it on to display the time remaining in the quiz.
