ENTRANCE EXAM FOR NURSING AND HEALTH SCIENCES PROGRAMS

All students applying to the Nursing or Health Sciences programs must take the HESI Admission Assessment (A2) exam. No exemptions or substitutions are permitted. The HESI A2 can be taken twice in an academic year (August –July). Students are not allowed to test twice in one month. The exam is timed and computerized. The program sheet for your major includes more detailed information about required scores. Test dates and registration information is detailed below.

WHEN TO TAKE THE EXAM
Students typically take the HESI A2 during the fall semester prior to applying to their program of choice. Students should have completed English, Math and Science prerequisites, or be currently enrolled in those courses, before taking the HESI A2. Discuss your readiness with your academic advisor or, if applying to Nursing, the Nursing Stage I coordinator.

HESI Admission Assessment study guides are available in the Sandhills bookstore and Boyd Library.

HESI A2 TEST DATES, TIMES, AND REGISTRATION
Effective Fall 2014, HESI A2 testing will be by appointment only. In the months of September, October and November, exams will be offered Monday-Thursday at 8:15 am and 12:30 pm.

HESI A2 exam seats are filled on a first come, first serve basis. Seats in the December and January exams fill up quickly, and students are encouraged to register early. Please contact the Testing Department to schedule an appointment. Reservations can be made in person in Stone Hall room 220A or 220B or via phone by calling 910-695-3733 or 910-246-5366.

Payment is due prior to taking the exam. No refunds.

*The use of calculators is not permitted. You will be provided with pencils and scratch paper. Unnecessary paper and bags are not permitted in the testing lab. Please secure your valuables before entering.*
