Financial Aid Application Steps
If you are interested in applying for financial aid, please note that the priority deadline for spring 2017 is December 2, 2016.. All documents must be received in the Financial Aid Office by the priority date to ensure students’ financial aid files are reviewed by the tuition payment date. In addition to the FAFSA, students may be required to complete additional forms or submit IRS tax return transcripts/W2’s. Those forms are also included in the priority deadline. Completed applications received after the priority deadline will continue to be processed, but the Financial Aid Office cannot guarantee they will be reviewed prior to the beginning of the semester.
Complete the Free Application for Financial Student Aid (FAFSA). The school code for Sandhills Community College is 002961.
You may be selected for a process called verification. If selected, you will be notified of required documentation by mail or during an interview. We will reprocess students who present information that conflicts with the original information submitted on the FAFSA.
The Financial Aid computer lab is open each Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. by appointment only. The lab is closed on New Student Registration Days and also for approximately two weeks prior to major registration times, which occur in January, May, and August. If you need personal assistance, please contact our office at 910-695-3743 to schedule an appointment. To complete your FAFSA or for assistance/questions, please visit www.fafsa.gov or call toll-free, 1-800-433-3243.
