“What better gift could you give a parent or friend than the opportunity to learn a new hobby, a new skill, or perhaps a new language?” says Andi Korte, vice president of Continuing Education and Workforce Development.” The Division of Continuing Education at Sandhills Community College is currently offering that opportunity to area residents.
“It is a wonderful gift to consider for a friend or loved one,” said Lori Williams, associate dean for Continuing Education. “Our gift certificates may be purchased for any course we offer in Continuing Education, in any increment. This includes computer and technology courses, all of our hundreds of online courses, our Center for Creative Living classes, career classes–any of the courses offered by Continuing Education.
“Maybe someone has a friend they would like to invite to join them in a particular class, “ Williams said.” How about learning to dance the Salsa with a partner or learn a new culinary skill or cooking technique with a friend.
“Maybe you’d like to give an iPad or a new computer as a birthday or holiday gift. What better way to accent the gift than with a class to enhance the gift’s usefulness? The opportunities are endless,” she said.
To purchase gift certificates, simply call or come to the office in Van Dusen Hall. Certificates are nonrefundable and are applied only toward class registration fees. Certificates will expire one year from the date of purchase with unused funds transferred to the Center for Creative Living for future programming costs.
Give the gift that will indeed keep on giving, the gift of knowledge. Visit the college website sandhills.edu/continuing-education or call 910-695-3980 for additional details or to purchase a Continuing Education Gift Certificate. The complete list of classes is at the same web address.
