Arms Control Treaty Analyst, BTI Security, Woodbridge, Virginia
Jeff Jones came to Sandhills Community College after serving four years in the US Navy. Sandhills gave him the direction he was looking for to set him on the path toward a successful career. He received an associate’s in Business Administration.
After transferring to UNC-Wilmington, he earned a bachelor’s in Economics in less than two years.
He then went on to Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, Florida. Later Jones earned a specialty in Surface Warfare at a Newport, Rhode Island military officers’ school and served as a naval officer on the USS Oscar Austin DDG-79 during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Now working for a government contractor as an arms control treaty analyst, Jones pays tribute to the educational foundation and confidence that Sandhills Community College gave him. Compared to other schools, civilian and military, Jones feels that the instruction he received at Sandhills met the standards of a high quality education and prepared him for more challenging experiences.
